Compost Workshops

Learn how easy and fun it is to recycle your fruit and vegetable scraps, leaves, and plant cuttings into compost in these free workshops! Our composting workshops teach composting options suitable for those who live in single-family and multi-family homes, apartments, and those with or without a backyard. These workshops are available and applicable to all!

Why learn how to make your own compost? Not only does compost provide valuable nutrients for your garden soil, but it also helps retain moisture in the soil, which saves water, prevents erosion, loosens clay and compacted soils for better drainage, and suppresses weeds. It is rewarding to know that you are turning what some consider to be waste into precious organic material for your garden.

During the workshop, discounts and rebates for backyard compost and worm compost bins will be shared to San Mateo County residents!
